The Benefits of Powder Coating

  •  What is Powder Coating?

Powder Coating is an advancedd method of applying a decorative and protective finish to steel or aluminum, used both by industry and consumers. The powder iteself is a dry finish consisiting of finely ground particles of pigment and resins. These particles are applied, through the use of special equipment and are electro-statically charged and sprayed onto the part to be painted. The charged particles adhere to the surface (which is electrically ground) until the piece is placed in the curing oven. The heat then melts and fuses the powder into a tough, durable, and attractive finishing coat.

  •  Powder Coating offers Versatility and Durability:

Powder coating provides a durable and high quality finish, which liquid paints simply cannot offer. Powder coating provides a wide range of performance properties with excellent resistance to impact, abrasion, heat (up to 400 degrees, high temp. powder is available), stains, extreme weather, and fading from sunlight.

Powder coating has a wide variety of colors and surface finishes: Gloss, semi-gloss, satin or flat finishes, as well as a wide selection of textured, wrinkled, and many other special effects. Virtually any color is available with powder, including many of the customer favorite candy and transparent finishes. To view or color selection, please view the Color Chart page.
